Remember when you were a child and being so active, strong and flexible? Not so much now as an adult. We are restricted in only several shapes and movements in an adult's everyday life, and we end up being stiff and limited in the range of movement. Come to my weekly stretch Yoga class, we will stretch: - Hamstrings - the backside of your leg, you know it's so stiff when you can't ¨touch your toes¨ - Chest - it's stiff, that's why we have rounded back - Shoulder & neck: you have no idea how common it is to have shoulder or neck pain. Mostly because of the tensions stored in this area. - Hip flexors: stiff for almost everyone, because we only do activities that flex our hips in every day. Hip flexor group also contains some very big and hidden muscles so it's hard to stretch. And other specific areas that you will know when you come :P
Benefits of STRETCH: - Better range of motion in the joints & flexibility in your muscles, - Better blood circulation to even the corners of your body, - (Much) better posture, and awareness of you you are sitting or standing in daily life, - Prevent injuries from limitations of the body, - Stress & tension relief.
If you do some sports, stretching will make your movements more efficient, increase your performance and improve your recovery time. The sooner you start stretching, the faster you will be performing at your peak without unnecessary pain or injury.
However, not many people do stretch, because it can feel painful, frustrating and time consuming if you do it on your own. I will be with you through the sensations of stretching!
